Pleasant Plains Homes For Sale

Pleasant Plains Staten Island is a neighborhood on the South Shore of the Island. Like many other neighborhoods on the Island, the neighborhood was named by the Staten Island Railroad Corporation, which today is the MTA Staten Island Railway, as the railway extended into South Shore.  Pleasant Plains is dotted by single family homes and is served by a thriving retail corridor. Within the neighborhood is also a 194 acre NY state park, Mount Loretto Unique Area, which adds to the neighborhoods appeal to families. Pleasant Plains homes for sale heavily reflect the neighborhood’s suburbia appeal and vary in grandeur.

In the 1990’s, New York State purchased a 194-acre parcel of land south of Hylan Boulevard and adjacent to Lemon Creek Park which is now a state park known as “The Mount Loretto Unique Area”. The Park includes a fishing pier at the foot of Sharrotts Ave.
