Parents with school aged children will find that Public School 53: The Bay Terrace School is located centrally on Grant Avenue. It has been recognized as a National School of Excellence and it backs onto Greencroft Playground, allowing children with ample space to play basketball, soccer, or baseball.

The Bay Terrace community enjoys a great location on Staten Island near many of the island’s parks and natural spaces. To the south of Bay Terrace, find Great Kills Park. The expansive, 580-acre natural space includes:

  • Marina

Other nearby parks include Siedenburg Park and Seaside Wildlife Nature Park. As such, active individuals will find plenty of places where they can run, walk, or enjoy nature.

Residents of Bay Terrace are fortunate to have a fantastic local transit system. The Staten Island Railway, locally known as the SIR, connects the South Shore to the North Shore. From the North Shore you can catch a ferry at the St. George Ferry Terminal. For those who regularly commute to Manhattan, there are also several buses that make frequent trips to the city.
