A senior level appointed New York City government official and non-profit Board Chairman, recognized for innovation and management of complex budgets and large professional staff with expertise in managing a large workforce and a budget of more than $180 million–Strong background in banking /finance, major gifts, plan giving and business development. Solid experience and knowledge in managing programs funded by the public/private sectors and other third parties; funded a wide variety of programs as a city Commissioner as well as a member of the Board of a large bank Foundation. Solid background in fundraising campaigns and feasibility studies, higher education, human services, healthcare and workforce development, program expansion and start-ups– As Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Medical Relief Fund, we grew the organization from a budget of $30K to a multimillion dollar not for profit–Served as chair of the City University of New York Board of Trustees Committee on Fiscal Affairs with budgetary oversight of more than $2.0 billion. As NYC Commissioner of the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYS), funded more than 850 youth programs; served as President and CEO of the United Nations Development Corporation, a $250 million not for profit city/state agency and negotiated the lease agreement for the UN to remain in NYC.

As Chairman of the Board of the Salvation Army on Staten Island, used ingenuity and initiative, balanced with a solid grounding in the areas of finance, accounting and administration and fundraising to help bring an $85 million grant to the organization to construct a multi-use complex; utilized excellent communication skills, as well as contacts among opinion leaders, to advance organizational media coverage, advocacy and interests. As a member of the Board or Directors of Richmond County Savings Foundation, awarded almost $50 million in grants to community based organization. As an Operations Manager at Chemical Bank (JPMorgan Chase), analyzed work flow trends, conducted evaluation of staff, analyzed and implemented bank retention requirements and best practices. Managed a large staff of officers and clerical employees in multi-shift operations and developed new products and services. Increased paid membership in a not for profit organization by more than 300% in one year; sort after certified lay speaker/servant, delivering speeches across the country as well as speaking at Intermediate, High School and College graduation exercises.
